Sit Down, and Shut Up.

Well whats the big fuss about? I'll tell ya, of all the decisions Bush had to tell the truth about, did he have to be honest with us again THIS time? Jeez...

But seriously, there is no reason why anyone should be surprised by his pick of Harriet Miers to the Surpeme Court. So many times he was asked whether or not he was going to appoint conservatives to the bench. Over and over again he said the same thing: "I am not going to have a litmus test when picking judges. I want judges who are not going to put their political views on the court, and will not write law from the bench." Was that so hard to understand? Now that he has actually picked the second nominee, what happens?

The conservatives are outraged! Why? They don't KNOW if she is a conservative like them or not. There is no track record. Well lets stop the spin right here. This is the SAME argument the Democrats used 2 months ago when fighting against John Roberts. During that time, many conservatives were saying things like "Oh, since they don't know anything about him, they have to oppose him by saying there is no evidence of his judicial point of view." Sorry guys, many of you have shown your true colors here. The few of you who feel so betrayed by our president that you have sworn off supporting him altogether in the future are a bunch of hypocrites. To that I say: Shut the hell up and sit down. You should have listened to him when he told you exactly what he was going to do. He hasn't lied to us before about his intentions. Lets see...

He told us he was going to take care of Saddam...
He did.

He said Iraq and Afghanistan were going to be free and democratic...
They are.

He said he was going to reform education and make it accountable...
He did.

He told us he was going to reform Social Security...
He is trying, hard.

He told us he was going to lower taxes...
Lets see...what now 4 times he has?

He said he was going to appoint judges without a litmus test...
And you whine like little spoiled brats when he does what he says he's going to do.

I am a conservative, and it makes me so mad when I hear some of my crowd grilling the president with the same arguments those lilly-livered liberals made just a few months ago. Some of these people I used to have such tremendous respect for I'm just so dissapointed in. Here's two for ya: Shut up, Laura Ingraham. Shut up, Bill Kristol.

Truth is, it is my hope and prayer that this holocaust of abortion ends as soon as possible. But you can't complain to liberals that they are trying to legislate from the bench when that is exactly what you are trying to do. We need to solve the abortion dilemma by passing legislation. Yes, Roe v. Wade is bad constitutional law, many have said so on both sides of the debate. It needs to be and will be overturned. After that, we need to convince people we are right and pass legislation, not by forcing our views on people. I only raise this point because it now seems that some on my side of the aisle have no intention of having it legislated and decided by the people. They want it solved in the courts just like those whom they critisize. Stop it. Sit down and shut up.

We are conservatives and we are proud to be who we are. We don't have to hide ourselves like the libs do on every issue. We don't have to pretend like we are moving "to the middle." Conservatism wins elections all over the place and all the time. Think of all the recent Republican presidents, all of them proud conservatives. Nixon, Reagan, Bush, and now GW Bush. We don't win elections by stooping to the other side's level. Winning is achieved by sticking to our guns and convincing others we are right. Thats the way its supposed to work, and it does.

Its not Bush who lied to us about what he was going to do. Its not Bush who let us down on his pick...its those conservatives who ridiculed the Democrats for their ridiculous arguments about John Roberts, and have now abandoned ship themselves.

And thats the no spin truth as I see it.

This is not the first, nor the last time that Conservatives (or Liberals for that matter) will contradict themselves. Not a whole lot we can do about it except keep voting them into office...oh....wait. Nevermind.
