JM#5: Double back, we forgot someone.

The Finding of Jesus in the Temple

This one for me is clearly about obedience. In this mystery we are brought to the commandment "honor thy father and mother". Christ follows the Father's command as we should too. He also recognized his parents' authority over him.

Sometimes it is a difficult thing to humble ourselves and realize our place is not always the one in authority. Our society makes it the norm that our opinions are our authority in almost every aspect of life. But Christ left us the beautiful gift of his Church to guide, teach, and be an authority over us. It would be awful if he left us to our own passions to decide what is objectively right and wrong.

The final part of this mystery is such a simple testament to Mary's faithfulness too. "She kept all these things in her heart."

My thought on this one always is, if we find Jesus missing in our lives, we know where to go to look for him, because he is always about his father's business.
