SOG Bishop Sheen on "Whats My Line"

This was on the AmericanPapist and Young Fogey's blog. But if you haven't seen it here it is...and as Young Fogey's points out, watch for the ring kissing at the very end.

Oh, I really enjoyed that. His modesty almost makes him an impossible guest ... I mean, it inhibits him from answering their inquiries accurately.

Was it customary to try to disguise one's voice?

I'm a big fan of David Niven, too, especially his pre-war stuff. The ring-kisser. The other two are Arlene Francis and Bennett Cerf, not the Cerf we all know. They mention Mendes-France.

I just wonder how much of it was scripted ... and how much of it was genuine, old-fashioned American wit.
