Mass in the Aftermath of WWII

I saw this picture in the comment box today over at the NLM. American soldiers are kneeling during a mass in Cologne Cathedral after it was bombed in an Allied raid on the city.

Click and ponder on this one a little bit. Imagine what those men must have been praying for, who they were praying for back home, and the souls of their fallen brethren they prayed for at that mass...
