William the Conqueror 1066...

I’ve posted this before, but it is a great read every year!

[Just noticed 10 days later that I put 1006 in the title instead of 1066! Whoops. Fixed.]

William the Conqueror, 1066,

Said to his captains, 'I mean to affix

England to Normandy. Go out and borrow

Some bows and some arrows, we're starting tomorrow!'

So William went conquering hither and thither

'Til Angles and Saxons were all of a dither

He conquered so quickly you couldn't keep count

Of the counties he conquered, I think they amount

To ten, or a doxen, or even a score,

And I haven't a doubt he'd have conquered some more,

But death put an end to the tactics, thank Heaven,

Of William the Conqueror, 1087.

“Hello Matt! I want to let you know about an awesome group called “Kepha, the Brotherhood of the Iron Will.” I am in hopes after you check out our website you would consider joining and helping to promote Kepha. All Kepha needs is more eyes looking at the website and God will do the rest. Kepha is a growing brotherhood of Catholic fathers and sons in seven states that are faithful to the Holy Father. We promote the Culture of Life through monthly retreats and shared daily prayers and provoke each other to Heaven according to our motto, "Dynamic Orthodoxy, Infectious Joy."

Kepha is a high-octane Catholicism rejecting spiritual laziness and moral compromise. We are under the patronage of our "BIG 3": St. John Bosco, Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. Kepha members agree to live by 5 commitments : Apologetics, Brotherhood, Charity, Mortification and Prayer.

Kepha is a non-profit organization with chapters in Texas and Louisiana. If you know of any men who are looking for an excellent way to strengthen their relationships with their sons, then please tell them about Kepha.

You can find out more information on our web site at

I look forward to hearing from you.

God bless you!

Hi Corey - it looks like you've got a pretty serious group there in Kepha don't you? Personally, I think we ought to promote more men's groups in the Church since things have become to feminized.

But I am a little tentative to promote a group I know so little about. If you don't mind, send me an email to ossian1898 [at] with some more info such as who founded it, and if it has received ecclesiastical approval. The last one is key.

Otherwise looks interesting.
